The Center for Architecture AIA NY Chapter hired PS NY and industrial design firm, Moorhead & Moorhead, to collaborate with curators to design several exhibitions over a course of the five years I was with the studio. As the sole designer I was involved in many aspects and phases of these exhibitions. We designed Context/Contrast: New Architecture in Historic Districts, 1976–2009, which examined new architecture in historic districts. The concept of layering was the core of the identity for this exhibition. The system them extended to the entired multi-level space and all collateral materials.
PS NY was commissioned to collaborate with curator and landscape architect, Tricia Martin, to create an experience that echoed her work which examines transitional zones between adjacent ecosystems. Ecotones played off of this research and created the identity, signage and the exhibition with respect to liminal spaces, like edges, corners, and varying spacial differences.
